At Walliscote Primary School, we believe that PSHE helps children understand themselves and others, develop a lifelong commitment to wellbeing, and see the world in a thoughtful, caring way. Through the Jigsaw programme, every child has the chance to grow their personal, social, and economical skills, whilst exploring values and relationships that help them become confident, kind, and resilient.

PSHE at Walliscote is taught using the Jigsaw scheme of work and is taught weekly. In Key Stage 1, floor books are used to record children’s ideas and work. In Key Stage 2, children use exercise books to record their ideas and work. PSHE is taught weekly and we follow the mixed-age scheme of work to ensure coverage for our mixed age classes in years 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6. In EYFS, Year 1 and 2 we follow the single year group scheme of learning.

Alongside Jigsaw, we supplement our curriculum with NSPCC resources to support safe relationships.
